The Characters: Stefan and Damon Salvatore are vampires and brothers. They've spent most of their 500 years on earth hating each other's guts over a tragic event that ended with the woman they both loved dying. Drawn together again by mysterious forces and their fascination for highschool girl Elena Gilbert - who bears a starting resemblence to the woman they loved and lost - the brothers are forced to re-evaluate their opinions of themselves, each other and their own rocky relationship.
